  • My darling husband, whom I fondly call my friend, father, mother and brother, had been a wonderful man in my life, in our journey of forty-seven years. He was loving, caring and considerate father and husband. A neat and tidy man, simple and humble but highly disciplined. He touched many lives within and outside his relations. He had a passion for the disabled and the less privileged. He was a responsible, reliable and honest person to the core. He loved God, served him and worked tirelessly in many capacities in God’s vineyard. His ministry was across different age groups without barriers. He was never envious of anyone’s position with his slogan being “godliness with contentment is great gain”. The most Revd G. L. Lasebikan, the Lord Bishop of Ondo Diocese nick named him ‘your grace’, and so he was fondly called by many. For your children, you have left a legacy worthy of emulation. Darling, I love you most dearly, but God loves you more. Goodbye sweetheart, rest in the bosom of your creator till we meet to part no more. Ariyayosi, Adieu!
    Your wife, Oluremi Akanke Akinrodoye
  • Sunday 17/12/17: Happy Birthday Dad!!!! 'Its a boy, how wonderful!' the phrase that announced my arrival to you, it had also become your signature phrase when you recognised my number or voice on the phone. You have always been there for me, always supportive (even though I did not understand) in hope that I will fulfil my inspired name. You were straight talking (with little margin of error), followed with action without a body language. This I learnt early in life and it helped me in navigating our replationship, unfortunately many didn't know or understand - young and old alike. When times were tough, you were flexible and through hardwork bulldozed through - you were an accountant, a project manager, a farmer (farming, poultry farming, animal husbandry), trader (sold cement and salt), service provider (Rental business). In all these ventures, you gave me practical life lessons. You taught me economics (informally), in principle and in its application in the navigation of life (especially opportunity cost).
Having left home some 23+ years now, I will miss your voice, your advice when I bounce ideas with you, your management of our 'pet' projects, our discussions about scriptures, innovation in church and ministry, etc. Well its 'na night', till we meet on resurrection morning. - Gbenga Akinrodoye

I found it difficult understanding how yourself and aunty Remi managed such a beautiful home despite the demand on you to be out of the house by about 05h30 and only returning, typically after 18h00. I thoroughly enjoyed my holidays in Ketu. You smiled more as we grew older and my last memories of you are filled with warmth as I remember how your humour warmed our souls as we prepared to lay our mother's (your sister's) remains to rest. We celebrate your heritage and how Jesus Christ worked in you to will and to do His good pleasure. We are comforted and encouraged by Psalm 116v15 - the Lord loves deeply when his loved ones die. • Thursday 18/01/18: TRIBUTES TO LATE UNCLE SEINDE AKINRODOYE.
The news of the glorious call of our Uncle Egii Seinde Akinrodoye to higher glory was received with a very deep sense of shock and loss as he looked healthy the last time I saw him few months ago. Uncle Seinde was upright, frank and prudent in managing resources. As an Anglican Church Priest he was highly respected and his wise counsels were difficult to ignore as he would argue his case to logical conclusion.
He was known to be one of the rare individuals who defiled economic theory, as he had a very light deposition to wealth and material accumulations.       Uncle Seinde's life had been a comet and his exit is synonymous to an eclipse. I pray for the repose of his soul in peace with the Lord. I also pray that the Almighty God will protect, guide and bless his highly dedicated and supportive wife, children, extended family members and the Ondo Anglican Church Community and Ondo City in which he spent his last years in the service of God and Mankind.
Rest in peace Uncle. - Brig Gen Funso Oyeneyin Rtd
  • Monday 22/01/18: I cannot believe you are no longer with us. May your beautiful memories sustain and bring comfort during this difficult hour. You will always remain in our hearts, in these moments of great ordeal. Rest in peace Uncle. - Yemi Akinrodoye
  • Wednesday 24/01/18: Rev'd Olaseinde Akinrodoye: Gone for Good.
Allan Lightman (1993) said, "in the world, time is a visible dimension. just as one may look off in a distance and see houses, trees, mountain peaks that are landmarks in space, so one may look out in another direction and see births, marriages, deaths that are signposts in time, stretching off dimly into far future".
This signpost is indeed gruesome. The question is, "who determines this? God or man? It can only be God who said, " For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."(Jeremiah 29:11).
Having fought a good fight in life, my beloved brother and uncle, Rev'd 'Seinde Akinrodoye, you were a forthright, dogged fellow in Christ whose love for the clerical ministry and humanity surpassed all earthly pleasures. Your faith in Christ and the need to be pious in all things, made you "Mr Right" within the family to the extent that, you were mis-understood by few who believed in earthly things, not knowing that, our callings as clergymen made us to stand above board for truth and we must not belong to this sinful world.
In November 2017, we were together at the Oba Adesanoye Civic Centre, Ondo City for a Civic/Community duty. A week to your death, I called you only to hear you asking us to pray for you at Ile-Ife. I was shocked, we prayed and our prayers were answered, while the will of God prevailed, you have gone for good. I condole your wife, children, all Ondos, Lagosian Anglicans, our families - Akinrodoyes, Oyeneyins, Fadojus, Akindolies, Falekulos, etc. May God keep us all.
Having obeyed the call of God on earth and heaven, "looking back would have made you unfit for the kingdom of God". Adieu.

  • Thursday 25/01/18: My first encounter was when Funmi asked Daddy to give me a ride from Ilesha garage or somewhere around there to FUTA. Daddy wanted to take Funmi to Obanla hostel but she insisted he should pass through Oba Kekere so as to drop me at the fellowship secretariat. He obliged without much ado. Visits to the house breaking all protocols were condone by daddy. A soft spoken and caring father. We shall all miss you. Rest on daddy till we meet at the feet of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. - Peter Oluwatoyin Akinmusire
  • Friday 26/01/18: I will always remember you as our good and ever smiling Uncle. This is our one solace, that the saints in heaven rejoice at your home call. Rest well Uncle Seinde as you smile on in heaven. - Tope Ademakinwa
  • Tuesday 30/01/18: TRIBUTE TO A GREAT UNCLE
Brother, as I  used to call you, words are not enough to express my feeling of loss at your death. Since your brother, Yele's demise  more than 40 years ago you have always been there for us and for this I am eternally grateful. Be rest assured that the cordial relationship between us and your family will not die.
REST IN THE BOSSOM OF THE LORD   beloved. - Aduke Akinrodoye (Mrs)
  • Friday 02/02/18: TRIBUTE TO MY FRIEND
It is with heavy heart that I write this tribute to my beloved brother, friend and Chaplain, Reverend Olaseinde Akinrodoye, a true child of God and a General in the Lord's army. Reverend was an amiable man of God whose exemplary life was a challenge to so many. Unlike many others, I had the unique privilege of knowing him not just as my Chaplain, but as my childhood friend. I recall with fond memories our time together as pupils at St. Stephen's Primary School, Oke Aluko, Ondo. It was my singular privilege to be the bestman at his wedding to Remi as far back as 1970. You were such a wonderful friend to me. Your sincerity of heart in all our years of friendship is a rare quality which I will sorely miss. Your willingness to make sacrifices for others, including me, was nothing but exemplary. It is true that life is not measured by its duration but by its donation. Your life truly exemplified this dictum. Yours was a life of purpose dedicated to the service of humanity. I take solace in the fact that your departure is merely a transition to the glory that lies beyond the grave. I am privileged to have met you while you were on this side of the great divide. Live on, Reverend Olaseinde Akinrodoye! - Chief Simeon Adekunle Akinlonu
